A C E I O U Y A makes the short a sound “ah” in words like: Apple Add C makes the “cuh” sound in words like: Cat Candy A makes the long a sound “aw” in words like: All Awesome C can also sound like an s in words like Circle E can make the short e sound “eh” in words like: Elephant E can also make the long e sound “ee” like in: Eel Electric I can sound like “ih” or “eye” Ih: Igloo Eye: Ice cream O makes the “oh”, “ah” and “ow” sound. “oh”: Open Orange “ah” Octopus “ow” Ouch Outside U makes the “uh” sound in: Under Upset U can also make the “oo” sound like in: Use You Y is the last of the letters with multiple sounds.
