Eurociett in a nutshell
•
Is the only authoritative voice representing the interests of agency work
businesses in Europe:
– Recognised by the European Institutions as well as by key European
stakeholders (e.g. ETUC, UNI-Europa, BusinessEurope)
– Accounts for more than 90% of the total sales revenues of the industry in
Europe
– Is the official EU social partner for the TAW (for the employers)

Eurociett is the only association representing agency work:
– At large: brings together 27 national federations
– In its diversity: uniting 6 of the largest multinational staffing companies as well
as tens of thousands of SMEs
•
Eurociett Members consist of private companies operating in the following
HR activities: temporary agency work, permanent recruitment, interim
management, executive search, outplacement, training
•
Eurociett represents 36,000 companies (57,000 branches), employ
250,000 internal staff and more than 3 million agency workers on a daily
average (FTEs) and around 10 million a yearly basis (headcounts)

The TAW market in Europe is bottoming up
Impact of crisis:The Lisbon Employment
targets were not to be reached
• Notwithstanding the rise in employment
starting from 2004, the original 70%
target was unlikely to be realised
• The crisis rendered the target even
more out of reach when the downward
trend began in the second quarter of
2008
• The unemployment target of the
Lisbon agenda (4%) was even more
ambitious than other targets
• In reality, the road to Lisbon has
never been travelled

As the voice of agency work in Europe, Eurociett
views the Europe 2020 Employment targets as
central to our priorities

Eurociett was motivated to produce this
Memorandum because the labour market is not
functioning as well as it should
•
Eurociett puts forward its 10 recommendations to
unlock the agency work industry’s contribution to a
better functioning labour market
– Agency work makes the labour market more
inclusive by facilitating transitions
– Agency work boosts job creation and raises the
employment level
– Agency work is at the heart of the Flexicurity
concept, providing flexibility and security for
both workers and companies
