Community-University Partnership
Outputs
−Community and university
researchers, community partners,
students, knowledge users, etc.
mobilized to form a CURA
−Governance structure developed and
implemented to enable effective
working relationships based on equal
partnerships
−Communities and universities (at the
organizational and individual level)
develop capacity to work with each
other

Short-Term Outcomes
−CURAs: Collaborative research
alliance in place allowing for active
participation of all involved and for
knowledge mobilization within the
CURA
−Communities: Reinforced community
decision-making and problem-solving
capacity
−Increased valuing of research and
ability to absorb and apply research
results
−Universities: Increased capacity to
respond to community-centred
research questions

Research Training and Development
− Students recruited and trained
− Participation of students and community-based
representatives in research activities
− Plans to train students and monitor their
research activities
− Use of knowledge gained for curriculum
development

Research Training and Development
Outputs
Short-Term Outcomes
−Community and university
researchers develop collaborative
research skills
−Research staff (students,
community partners, non-students,
etc.) hired, trained and gain
collaborative research skills and
experience
−Graduate and post-graduate work
completed within the CURA
−Enhanced education and employability
of graduates
−Capacity in the area of collaborative
research is increased
−Sustained involvement of CURA
participants in community-centered
research
