. The development of the livestock sector in Sindh demands
scrutiny for the following reasons:

a) Sindh has the second largest irrigated agrarian base in the
country, and having huge potentials in terms of diversified natural
resources and excellent human resources.
b) Livestock sector has a potential to grow as a driver of change,
not only in terms of growth and poverty reduction.
c) Compared with Punjab, Sindh has comparative advantages in
the livestock sector in terms of it's diversified and the higher
proportion of livestock income in the total household income, in
particular the lower income strata.
d)The development of the livestock sector in Sindh could
contribute immensely not only to the stability and sustainable
growth of the province, but also to the increasing supply of
livestock demand demand of Karachi (metropolitan) city in
Pakistan.




JICA
(Japan International Cooperation Agency ) has signed
an agreement with Sindh government to help revive its
livestock potential under a five-year project.
The
project marks the beginning of implementation of a
livestock development master plan jointly worked out by
the provincial government and Japanese experts.
The
plan will cover the period until 2020.

 OBJECTIVES
 To carry out the experiments on the various aspects
of the Breed in its original character.
 To act as demonstration stations for disseminating
the results of experiments to the farmers for
improvement of their Livestock.
 To maintain the pure Breeds.
 Supply the Breeding Bulls to the farmers as well as
the Veterinary Hospitals and Dispensaries to
improve the Livestock through natural services.
