Why a Peaking Power Facility?
Grid operators use a mix of base, intermediate and peaking
plants to maintain the supply/demand balance of the grid
Peaking power facilities ensure electric reliability and support
renewable energy
CPV Sentinel:
Runs only when needed most (hot days)
Starts and stops quickly (10 minutes)
Backstops intermittent renewables (it is not always windy or sunny)
