Wedding Portraits

• I participated in a class on fashion
photography and lighting, as well as
researched fashion photography techniques
and their relationship to current rends in nontraditional wedding photography and
portraiture. I also took part in a mock trash
the dress photoshoot with Pepper Dawson, a
San Diego wedding photographer.

location lighting as it relates to fashion

• Using hot shoe flashes on location for diverse
effects
Wedding Photography
• Researched contemporary wedding
photography styles that use fashion and
commercial styling, lighting and techniques.
Mock Shoot- Trash the Dress, Salton
Sea
• My students completed a portrait assignment
where we looked at a variety of portrait styles
including fashion and wedding photography and
talked about job paths in those areas. My
students used studio lighting and location lighting
techniques to achieve the lighting effects they
wanted. Students watched a slide show and
demonstration of studio lighting, looked at work
by a variety of photographers then chose a
specific style/type of portraiture then worked in
the lighting studio or outside within an
environment to create compelling photographic
imagery.
