Bags     Take all of the shapes out of the bags Sort the shapes however you feel that they would be grouped best Place their shape numbers on the tree map Label how you are sorting them

Parallel Lines  They are lines that will continue forever without meeting (crossing)

Perpendicular Lines  Two lines that intersect and create 90 degree angles.

Parallelogram  Parallelogram: A Quadrilateral with both pairs of opposite sides parallel, opposite angles are equal.

Square  Square: A parallelogram with four congruent sides and four right angles (it is a rhombus and a rectangle)

Rectangle  Rectangle: A parallelogram with four right angles, two sets of congruent parallel lines

Trapezoid  Trapezoid: A quadrilateral with exactly one pair of parallel sides

Rhombus  Rhombus: A parallelogram with four congruent sides, two sets of parallel sides and opposite angles are congruent.
