Children sing carols in their neighborhood door by door asking for the ‘Aguinaldo’, a

The most important meal of this day is the dinner which consist of sea food , roast
lamb, roast piglet and as dessert candy nougat (turrón)
Just before this main dinner, at nine o´clock, the king of Spain Don Juan Carlos I

people, especially children play jokes on.
The 31st of December is the ‘Nochevieja’ , the last night of the year. We have a
special dinner at home and we go to parties with family and friends.
At midnight, we listen to the 12 strokes of the clock and we eat 12 grapes, one for
each stroke. Eating all the grapes brings good luck for the New Year to start. After
this, we all kiss and say ‘Happy New Year’ and people watch fireworks.
