our life. There are many
stadiums and public sport
facilities in Russia.

matches and
competitions are regularly held
in our country. They attract large
numbers of fans. Most of the
important games are shown
on TV.

leisure centers have been built
during the past years.

Moscow Olympic Games
In 1980 the 22nd Olympic
Games were held in
Moscow.
It was a festival of sport and
friendship.
Sportsmen from 81
countries took part in them.
The competitions were held
in Minsk, Leningrad, Kiev
and Tallinn too.
The Olympic
Games were a
great success.
Our sportsmen got
the first place.
They won 80 gold,
69 silver and 46
bronze medals.
