ACTC Robotics Program:
• All high school students enrolled in District I or II
have the option of joining a traveling competition

What is VEX??
• The VEX Robotics is a mid-level robotics
competition for middle & high school students.
– Students work in teams to compete against other
teams in a fast-paced game to score as many
points as possible before time runs out
• Every year a new challenge (“game”) is released
• Bracket style competition similar to NCAA basketball
• Robot has to be 18”x18”x18” at the start of the match

• The VEX Robotics Competition is the
largest and fastest growing middle and
high school robotics program globally
• Over 10,000 teams from 32 countries
worldwide
• Over 750 tournaments worldwide

Events this Season
• This is still tentative as dates/locations are being finalized:
– SC has to follow the VEX State Championship Model:
• 5+ regional events each with 4+ qualifying spots for
the state championship
– ACTC plans to host one of these locally
– Date: January 17th, 2015 – Location still TBD
• 1 State Championship of 24-35 teams competing
– March 7th, 2015 – Center for Advanced Technical
Studies – Chapin, SC
– 3 SC teams will earn a place at the VEX World
Championship

– 2015: April 15th – April 18th
