GS3055-I Installation Process GS3055-I Overview The GS3055-I is: 1. A universal wireless alarm communicator that can be used in a backup or primary role. 2. A device which connects the alarm control panel to the GSM network and reports alarm signals directly to a monitoring central station receiver (Sur-Gard System III/ System II). 3. A digital transmitter which provides full reporting from any control panel that communicates using Contact ID format. CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I Service Provider What is CONNECT 24? • CONNECT 24 is the GS3055-I service provider • CONNECT 24 provides the automated telephone activation system for the activation of GS3055-I units (GVRU, Voice Response Unit) • CONNECT 24 provides web-user interface support for the programming of GS3055-I units • CONNECT 24 provides account administration, billing and rate plans to GS3055-I customers CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I Enrolment Steps In order to properly enrol a GS3055-I unit you must follow these steps : STEP 1 – Activate your SIM card with Connect 24* STEP 2 – Initialize the GS3055-I with Connect 24 STEP 3 – Determine best signal strength location STEP 4 - Connect the GS3055-I to the control panel STEP 5 - Program the control panel to use Contact ID format STEP 6 – Test the GS3055-I Note: GS3055-I unit must be powered down for STEPS 1 and 2 CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I SIM Card Activation (GVRU) SIM Card Activations must be activated with Connect 24 prior to use. Please call the VRU at least 24 hours prior to installation. To activate a SIM Card, you will need the following information: 1. Installer’s ID Number: It identifies each installer listed on the Dealer Enrolment Form 2. Installer’s PIN Number: It identifies each installer with a 4 digit PIN number 3. The SIM Card Number: (Subscriber Identity Module), 19-20 digits located on SIM Card Note: Only authorized dealers can activate a SIM Card with CONNECT 24 CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I Initialization (GVRU) To initialize a GS3055-I unit, you will need the following information: 1. Profile Number: It represents the Central Station Receiver IP address and Rate Plan 2. Installer’s ID Number: It identifies each installer listed on the Dealer Enrolment Form 3. Installer’s PIN Number: it identifies each installer with a 4 digit PIN number 4. The Central Station Account Number: Account number to be transmitted to the Central Station Receiver 5. The SIM Card Number: (Subscriber Identity Module), 19-20 digits located on SIM Card 6. The DNIS Number: (Dialled Number Information Service), Check your work order • Test transmission selection: daily, weekly or monthly • Determine if GS3055-I unit is the primary or backup communicator • Determine the type of installation Residential or Commercial Note: Only authorized dealers can initialize a GS3055-I with CONNECT 24 CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I Signal Strength Test To test the signal strength of a GS3055-I, you need: 1. The antenna must be connected to the GS3055-I 2. The SIM Card must be inserted into the GS3055-I 3. The Battery must be connected to the GS3055-I The Signal Strength levels on GS3055-I are: 1. Excellent Signal Strength = GREEN LEDS 3 and 4 2. Good Signal Strength = GREEN LED 4 3. Poor Signal Strength = GREEN LED 4 (Flashing) 4. No signal Strength = OFF For a proper installation, the GS3055-I must have a Good Signal Strength CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I – Telephone Wiring (Back-up Mode) To Power Supply From RJ-31X Demarcation To Premise Telephones CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I Control Panel Programming Panel programming consist of: Program any phone number (at least 1 digit) Program the corresponding account number Program the panel’s format as Contact ID Program Reporting codes or activate automatic reporting option Enable the phone line communicator CONFIDENTIAL GS3055-I Testing To test a GS3055-I unit, follow the next steps: 1. Disconnect the telephone line from the TIP and RING terminals on the GS3055-I unit 2. Verify that LED 2 (YELLOW) is ON. This indicates that the unit is in GSM mode 3. Connect a voltmeter to R1 and T1 on the GS3055-I unit, the voltage reading should be around 34.5Vdc (dial tone) 4. Arm the control panel and violate a zone, so that the panel attempts to report the event 5.
