Announcement of small grants –

for activities aiming to promote scientific excellence in epidemiology and increase scientific collaboration between different epidemiology centers and departments at Karolinska Institutet Types of fundable activities: 1. Half- or fullday seminars or workshops with invited speaker(s) (up to 50,000 SEK) 2. Grant writing workshops (up to 25,000 SEK) 3. Short courses in epidemiology (up to 50,000 SEK) Instructions: 1.

The activity must explain how it supports at least one of the three SFO themes: I) Human interactions with micororganisms II) Molecular, genetic and clinical epidemiology III) Lifespan approach to Health and Disease. 2.

The application should clearly state how at least two, preferably more, separate epidemiology centers/departments are actively involved in the organization and participation of the proposed event and how collaboration within epidemiology at KI is fostered. A grant application of max. one page should, in addition to the above, specify: - the scientific aims - brief background - planned schedule - budget - target group for the activity 4.

Main applicants at post-doc, assistant professor or associate professor level will be prioritized.
