• Books are arranged according to decimal notation. It is easy
to track a book in the shelf, if you can locate the same in
the catalog. We call that notation class number.

• There are several reading areas inside the library.
You have to observe silence in most of the areas. If
you want to study in groups or discuss with your
colleagues, please move to Group Study Area (firstfloor reading hall).

• You can avail our photocopy service against
payment;
• Photocopy service is available from 11AM –
7 PM on working days only;
• You will be charged 70 paisa per exposure;

Computing facility
• We have a computing facility room which houses
several desktops. Besides, there are few more
computers in different locations of the library.
Please ask Users’ Assistance Desk to know the
locations. The library is also wi-fi enabled.

An important note on accessing eresources
• Most of our e-resources are hosted on various
websites;
• According to the new security policy of the institute,
only authorized users can have access to the
Internet;
• Your iimcal email-id and password should be used
for authorized access to the Internet;
• This implies that you must get your email acount as
soon as possible.

The catalog
• In addition to help you find if we have a document
in our stock, our catalog will also assist you on the
followings:
– To check the books that are overdue;
– To make a reservation for a book that is currently issued
out;
– To renew books online (once only);

• You have to submit your iimcal email id, to us, within a
month. This will help us generate automated reminders
and/or intimations to you. If we do not receive your email id
latest by July 18, 2010, we will block your account
temporarily;
• To submit your iimcal email – please send a mail from your
iimcal account with subject line “updating library account” .

Our Electronic Collection
• We have a large collection of electronic resources
– databases, journals and books. When you are
within the campus, you can just click on the title to
connect to any resource;
• When you are away from campus, you can still
access these resources. Please consult “Electronic
resources” on our portal.

If you want to receive information, regularly from the
library, in your personal mail account, I suggest
you create a group of email and let me know the
same so that we can push each notification from
the library to your account.

• Even though we are open for nearly 15 hours, limited
service and reading/computing facilities are available after
5:30 PM and on holidays. If you have any query, please
contact Users’ Assistance Desk between 9:30 AM to 5:30
PM or use LibraryHelpDesk facility of our web portal.
• Please deposit your bags at the security counter while
entering the library. Please allow the security people to
check your belongings, including files etc. while you are
leaving the library.
