Waverly Education Foundation (WEF) was
created to support the students and programs of
Waverly Community School District
Funded by membership of private citizens and
businesses as well as fundraisers (Golf Outing
and Gala)

WEF – Fall/Spring Grants

WEF Grants are awarded twice a year to
provide immediate support to recognized
programs within Waverly Schools




Applications due last Friday of Sep. and Feb.
Reviewed by grant committee,
recommended/approved by entire WEF board
Goal of high return of value for Waverly students
Common Denial Reasons



Not for replacing traditional funding (facilities, budgets, etc)
Not for salaries or transportation
Not on-going (one time funding/support only)

Steiner Bolhouse Scholarship & Grant
presented each year to a graduating senior who
has demonstrated an understanding of the
importance of community service


$1,000 Scholarship for student’s college tuition
$1,000 Grant from Ms. Susan Steiner Bolhouse to an
approved Waverly Community Schools Program of
the student’s choice

Past Examples: Spanish National Honor Society, Track
Team, National Honor Society, Destination Imagination,
PALS, Relay for Life and School Beautification

Volunteer Recognition Dinner – to recognize
those volunteers that have touched the lives of
staff, family and students
Daniel G. Pappas Volunteer Leadership
Award – to recognize an individual for constant
acts of care for Waverly in various organizations,
acts and services
Hubbell Distinguished Service Award – to
recognize outstanding service and dedication to
the Waverly Community and Waverly Education
