LOCALITY BUDGET
• 78 County Councillors have £10,000 to grant to
community groups in their wards
• Amount allocated to individual projects varies
• Sport has not obtained its fair share of grants
• Less than 10% granted to sport
• Apply to more than one councillor
• Available until end March 2013. Further money in
2013/14

HERTS TALENTED ATHLETES
PROGRAMME
• Talented athlete scheme for 13-18 year olds
• Athletes at Regional/National squad level
• Includes strength & conditioning, physiotherapy,
nutrition and sport psychology support
• Scheme supported by University of Herts, Herts
County Council, Lea Valley Regional Park Authority
and Herts is Ready for Winners

COUNTY FUNDING
ASPIRING ATHLETE SCHEME
• Supported by Hertsmere Leisure, Finesse
Leisure, Stevenage Leisure, Sportspace
(Dacorum) & Gosling Sports Park
• Free access to leisure facilities
• Open to residents in Herts or member of
Herts Club
• 11-28 year olds of minimum county standard
• Simple application form
• Contact: Local Leisure Centre
Note: Some other leisure centres such as those in
Broxbournehave own scheme
SPORTIVATE
• Targets 14-25 year olds
• Sessions outside school hours
• Minimum 6 hours coaching
• Emphasis on sustainability via club links
• Need to demonstrate exit routes
• £9k/annum for each local authority
