A Quick Definition…
An ePortfolio (short for electronic
portfolio) is a collection of multimedia-rich,
linked documents that students (and
perhaps faculty, programs, and/or
administrators) compose, maintain,
synthesize, and develop over time.
Kirkpatrick, J. (2006, June 2). ePortfolios: Zero to sixty: Assumptions,
actions, expectations. Paper presented at the 2006 Sakai/OSP
Conference.
2
… In Practical Terms
Schools or departments will be able to
assess student progress in a definitive
manner.
Students will be able to develop online
showcases of their work at NNU and
create resumes that can be customized for
potential employers.
3
The Bottom Line
ePortfolios help students make sense of
higher education through reflective practices
that encourage users to connect their
learning experiences.
(Kirkpatrick, 2006)

Tk20: ePortfolios and More
Several NNU departments are now using
a web-based application called Tk20, an
assessment and reporting system.
In addition to tools to manage field
experience, create reports based on
student progress, and much more, Tk20
includes an ePortfolio aspect.
