Key Points in Relation to Mental Health and Employment
Australia ranks:
21 out of 27 of OECD countries of participation rates for people
with a disability

7th for part time participation for people with disability
2nd in regards to the comparative risk of people with a disability
living in or near poverty
A diversity of strategies that support individuals, employers and the
wider community to address barriers to participation and inclusion
required
30.4% of people receiving income support payments were identified
with symptoms indicative of a clinically diagnosable mental disorder

Job Services Australia:
470,000, 13 week employment outcomes in the first 33
months of the JSA contract

Both programs substantially out-perform previous frameworks

Employment Services Assistance
Employment Services assistance to job seekers includes:
