What have we achieved?

Achieve More

is the over-aching name for one of the most significant changes to our curriculum in the last 20 years. Engage students with opportunities beyond their discipline, approved by Senate Oct. 2013 commenced Sept 2014. ongoing

94% of our students gain employment or further study 6 months after graduating.

Employment embedded within the Learning and Teaching strategy. Employability coordinators in each Faculty. Students have the opportunity to learn outside of the University, a Placement Team has been established in Careers Department. Cultural agility through ERASMUS and ‘Languages for All ’. Partnership Sheffield City Council and SHU, RISE first city wide scheme in UK securing SME internships, The scheme has support and will continue 2015. ongoing 25/04/2020 © The University of Sheffield

A vibrant international community

ground breaking #weareinternational campaign highlighting the crucial value of international students to the UK this is now backed by over 100 Universities. To ensure the UK remains welcoming to overseas students. Ongoing

Support for students

group established Sept 2014 reviewing the support for students. 2014 NSS demonstrated there is still work to do on ‘Assessment and Feedback’ part of student support. Ongoing

HEAR for students who started in 2012

to record students achievement to acknowledge the full range of opportunities that HEI offer. Includes University achievements both academic and extra curricular, involved working closely with SU. Helps to evidence student ’s attainment of The Sheffield Graduate attributes. UoS progress is more advanced than that of other institutions. ongoing 25/04/2020 © The University of Sheffield
