Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

As newborn babes, desire the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:

If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

To whom coming,
as unto
a living stone, disallowed indeed of men, but chosen of God,
and
precious,
5
Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
6
Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone, elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.

Unto you therefore which believe
he is
precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone which the builders disallowed,

the same is made the head of the corner,

And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence,
even to them
which stumble at the word, being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

But ye
are
a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people;

that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Which in time past
were
a people, but
are
now the not people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

2 就要爱慕那纯净的灵奶，像才生 的婴孩爱慕奶一样，叫你们因此 渐长，以致得救。
3 你们若尝过主恩的滋味，就必如 此。
4 主乃活石，固然是被人所弃 的，却是被神所拣选、所宝贵的 。
5 你们来到主面前，也就像活 石，被建造成为灵宫，作圣 洁的祭司，藉着耶稣基督奉献神所 悦纳的灵祭。
6 因为经上说：“看哪，我把所拣 选、所宝贵的房角石安放在锡安 ；信靠他的人必不至于羞愧。”
7 所以，他在你们信的人就为 宝贵，在那不信的人话说： “匠人所弃的石头已作了房角 的头块石头。”
8 又说：“作了绊脚的石头，跌人 的磐石。”他们既不顺从，就在 道理上绊跌；他们这样绊跌也是 预定的。
9 惟有你们是被拣选的族类， 是有君尊的祭司，是圣洁的国度 ，是属神的子民，要叫你们宣扬 那召你们出黑暗，入奇妙光明者 的美德。
10 你们从前算不得子民，现在却 作了神的子民；从前未曾蒙怜恤 ，现在却蒙了怜恤。
