3 + 11 1. Add the Numerators.
5 11 3 2. Keep the Denominators the same.

Reduce or simplify if necessary…

Adding Fractions with Unlike Denominators
1. Find a common denominator using LCM.
2. Multiply numerator and denominator by LCM.
3. Add the converted fractions.
If I do that I’m multiplying by 1 and not changing the value!
