the hepatosomatic index.

DETERMINATION OF THE NUTRITIONAL VALUES OF
PROCESSED PLANTAIN PEELS
• COLLECTION OF RIPE AND UNRIPE PLANTAIN
PEELS
• PROCESSING OF BOTH RIPE AND UNRIPE
PLANTAIN PEELS
• ANALYSIS FOR PROXIMATE COMPOSITION,
MINERALS, ANTINUTRITIONAL COMPONENTS
AND THE AMINO ACID PROFILE OF ALL THE
PROCESSED FORMS
REPLACEMENT OF MAIZE WITH PROCESSED
PLANTAIN PEEL MEALS
THESE ARE SERIES OF EXPERIMENTS IN WHICH
DIFFERENTLY PROCESSED PLANTAIN PEEL MEALS
WILL BE INCOPORATED AT VARIOUS LEVELS OF
REPLACEMENT OF MAIZE IN THE DIET OF NILE
TILAPIA
