About ARKA
ARKA - In this specially designed festival we feature great masters who share a great
chemistry and enthrall their audiences with their perfect creative synergy. In its inaugu- ral
edition the festival will feature a never - before concert tour featuring great Sitarists of India
- Niladri Kumar, along with Karthik (Singer), Selva Ganesh (Kanjira), Gino Banks (Drums),
Mishko M’Ba (Bass Guitar from France) Santhosh Chandran (Guitar), Ravi Chandra Kulur
(Flautist) and exceptionally talented Ms. Gioconda Vermischelli (Opera Singer from Italy)
with an energetic ensemble of percussionists.
Exchange 4 Artist has designed this ensemble which is brilliant and unique in content and
unparalleled in artistic synergy. While these masters represent different musical styles
and are very individualistic in terms of their playing techniques, together they simply create
magic with their music and will make an unforgettable experience for listeners across
the country.

Niladri Kumar
Niladri Kumar is an Indian classical and fusion musician. He performed on the sitar from a
young age and toured and released albums as an adult. He has worked with Jonas Hell- borg ,
John McLaughlin and also worked with various music directors in Hindi cinema, including A.R.
Rahman, Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy and Pritam. He was conferred the Sangeet Natak Akademi’s
Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskar, awarded to young musicians. He has also won MTV
Immies award for the Best Classical/Fusion Instrumental for his album. He has created a
unique instrument, the “zitar”, which is a combination of sitar and guitar.

Karthik
Karthik is an Indian playback singer. Karthik started his professional career as a backing vocalist
and has since been working as a playback singer. He has sung in multiple languages including
Telugu, Tamil and in other languages like Malayalam, Bengali and Hindi. Karthik is known for
his versatility in the industry which gave him opportunity to sing a variety of songs. He has
received various awards like IIFA, Filmfare and so on.

Selvaganesh
SELVAGANESH represents the new breed of percussionist emerging from India. Son and
disciple of great percussionist Vidwan Vikku Vinayakram. He has performed with all lead- ing
musicians like Ustad Zakir Hussain , Mandolin U. Shrinivas, Ustad Alla Rakha, and so on. His
spirit of adventure has also led to forays into the world of jazz festivals in Europe with top
weastern musicians like John Mclaughlin and Jonas Helborg.

Gino Banks
GINO BANKS is the son of Louiz Banks, India ‘s legendary jazz pianist and composer. Gino is
a versatile player, this leads him to performing and recording with artists and bands of all types
of genres, artists like, Ustad Zakir Hussain, Pt. Hariprasad Chaurasia, Ustad Rashid Khan; to
Bollywood sessions and gigs with Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, Salim-Sulaiman, Vishal-Shekhar, to
fusion groups Yuva, Niladri Kumar’s Sitar Funk, Amaan & Ayaan Ali Khan and Bala Bashkar;
to rock bands like Helga’s Fun Castle, Gary Lawyer, and Zero. He has performed with
international musicians like Mike Stern, Guthrie Govan and so on.

Mishko M’Ba
Mishko M’Ba is a renowned French bassist/pianist, composer & producer. He studied west- ern
classical music at Toulouse and focused later on jazz and rock. As a very demanded bass player
who really makes his instrument sing, he is touring in USA, Europe and Asia with various bands
of different musical styles for many years. He is among the cream of French bassists, having
worked with renowned Artists such as Ray Charles, Lucky Ali, Kaled and Didier Lockwood. He
has an exciting, intensely dynamic style, contributing melodic and rhythmic structures which are
the very heartbeat of Emergence.

Gioconda Vessichelli
Gioconda Vessichelli is a singer/soprano from Italy. She is the inventor and pioneer of BollywoOpera style. She has sung in the Bollywood movie, Prague, in 2013, and she is in the
Annual book of Italian opera singer for having sung in the first world edition of contemporary opera. She is the first singer in the premiere world execution of the contemporary opera.
