产品说明书，又称商品说明书或说明书，是生
产商为销售及进一步宣传和说明其产品而附在产品
包装内部或外部的一种宣传资料，通常可以翻译为
Instruction Manual或 Description Manual
( Operation Manual ) . 另又称“操作与维修手册”
（Operation and Service Manual）、“用户手册”
（ user’s guide) 等。有的说明书只有产品性能、
操作使用方法等内容，可称“产品使用手册”、
“操作手册”（Operating Manual）。产品说明
书作为一种特殊的实用文体，有其特有的语言、结
构和文体特征。

产品说明书主要用来说明产品的结构、
功能、性状等各方面特征，并告诉客户如
何正确使用所购物品，使顾客对产品有深
一层的了解，以免因使用不当而造成不良
后果，同时对今后产品的日常保养有一定
的提示作用。一份好的产品说明书，不仅
可以迅速激起人的购买欲望，而且可以起
到良好的宣传广告作用。

④生产厂家，经销单位，产品代号，电话号
码，电子邮件，地址等。
英语产品说明书一般由标题（包括副标题）和正文两大部分组
成。有的说明书在最后还附注厂商的名称。说明书中往往包括
下面的一些内容：
1. 产品的一般特征：安装（installation）、使用（usage）、维
修（maintenance）。
2. 产品的具体特征（description）: 注意事项（cautions）、基
本原理（general principle）、结构（structure）、安装调整步
骤 （ installation and adjustment）、 使 用 （ usage）、 维 修 （
maintenance）、 故 障 排 除 （ trouble shooting）、 备 件 单 （
auxiliary parts）。
产品说明书的作用：

（基本作用：指导和帮助消费者

产品说明书通常采用较完整的叙述文字，
对产品的性能、功用和注意事项等进行较详
细的说明。 产品说明书兼具多种文本功能，
其独特的语篇功能决定了语言具有客观性、
简明性和号召性等特点。

1.客观性
产品说明书主要面对普通消费大众，产品性能、
特点等，以便他们作出正确的选择并在购买后正确
使用。这种语篇主要反映了生产厂家与消费者之间
的交流关系。所以说明书的内容必须通俗易懂、实
事求是(即有一说一，有二说二），对产品进行客观
的描述，语气应客观冷静，不要妙笔生花，也不能
使用过多的修饰手段或含有渲染、夸大成分。说明
书通常需采用恰当准确的词汇如实地反映产品的真
实情况。

产品说明书是一种相当专业的应用文件，
用词专业性是一大突出的特点。这种特殊文体有
较固定的结构要素，例如名称、型号、功能、特
性、用途、注意事项、安装等，因此会频繁使用
一些固定的名词词组或动词词组。由于描述对象
覆盖面甚广，说明书会涉及各种专业和领域，常
常会使用某个技术领域特有的行业术语。必要时
可查阅专业词典, 或请教相关专业人员.
以药品说明书为例，其中含有大量相

产品说明书的目标读者是普通大众而非专业
人士，他们往往对产品所属的领域比较陌生，因
此在语言上通常会尽量简洁。产品说明书的简洁
性首先体现在名词化上。语篇中描述性的长句通
常被浓缩为名词或词组。说明书的简洁性还体现
在省略结构和缩略词的频繁使用上。它经常采用
条款式: 即1), 2), 3)… , 逐条列出.
