Possesive Pronouns
•
İyelik zamirleri, cümlede iyelik sıfatı ile beraber kullanılan ismin yerine geçer. En
dikkat çekici özelliği cümlede hem sıfatın hem de ismin kaldırılıp “ iyelik zamirinin ”
yazılmasıdır.Cümle içerisinde zamir olarak kullanılsa da aitlik, sahiplik, anlamı verir.
Yani Türkçe'deki '' benimki, seninki, onunki, bizimki, sizinki, onlarınki '' anlamını
katar.Cümlenin başında ya da sonunda yer alabilir.

Possesive prononuns ve Possesive
adjectives arasındaki farkı tekrar hatırlayalım.
This is Jane’s book.
This is her book. (possessive adjective her)
This book is Jane’s.
This book is hers.(possessive pronoun hers)
• I love Jane. (Ben Jane’i seviyorum.)
(I = subject pronoun)
• Jane loves me. (Jane beni seviyor.)
(me = object pronoun)
• Mrs. Wayne is my mother. (Bayan Wayne benim
annemdir.)
(my = possessive adjective)
• That table is mine. (Şu masa benimki.)
• A: Is that my pen? (Şu benim kalemim mi?)
B: No, I think it is mine. (Hayır, sanırım o benimki.)
• I know him, but I can’t remember his name.
(Onu tanıyorum ama onun ismini hatırlayamıyorum.)
• I quite like our house but yours is nicer.
(Bizim evimizi oldukça severim ama sizinki daha güzel.)
• This car isn’t mine. My parents lend it to me
sometimes but it is theirs.
(Bu araba benimki değil. Benim ebeveynlerim bazen
onu bana verir ama o (araba) onlarındır.)
