SPECIAL ENTRY ACCESS SCHEME
(SEAS)
For some people, the chance to show their potential
for university study may have been limited due to
financial, geographical, cultural or personal
circumstances.
This scheme allows us to give you special
consideration when applying for admission to an
undergraduate course.
Eligibility
You must be a citizen or permanent resident of
Australia, applying for an undergraduate course, who
meets at least one of the requirements.
Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS)
Mature age
Indigenous Australian
Regional or remote school
Non-English speaking background
Born outside Australia in a non-English speaking
country and arrived in Australia in the last six years
(after 1 January 2009) - the initial entry stamp for
arrival in Australia
Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS)
Difficult personal circumstances
Circumstances impacting your senior secondary
schooling, which may include:
being a refugee
long-term serious illness or death of a family member
abusive living environment: physical, psychological or
emotional abuse over extended period
natural disaster such as drought, bushfire or flood.
Documentation Required - SEAS:
Provide these statements:
an impact statement outlining your circumstances and
how this has affected your preparation for tertiary study
a statement of support from a medical practitioner,
lawyer, counselor, teacher, religious or community
leader.
Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS)
Disadvantaged financial background
Disadvantaged financial circumstances including:
individual or family poverty
excessive financial obligations
economic hardship (up to 10 points)
If you receive a Centrelink benefit, provide one of the
following:
Centrelink Reference Number (CRN)
Customer Access Number (CAN)
other evidence that you receive a benefit
Special Entry Access Scheme (SEAS)
If you don't receive a Centrelink benefit, provide:
an impact statement outlining how your financial
circumstances have negatively affected your preparation
for tertiary study
a statement of support from someone with knowledge
of your financial circumstances, such as a lawyer, social
worker, accountant

Disability or medical condition
A disability, impairment or medical condition that has
affected your studies, leading to disadvantage in your
preparation for tertiary study (up to 5 points)
Provide these statements:
about the nature and time period of your condition,
outlining how it has affected your preparation for
tertiary study
a statement of support from a health professional.
(including Psychologist/Counsellor etc)
