Elements that Require Approval
• Each course outline has three elements:
• Course Master – contains all the constant, non-variable
details; one per course no matter to how many programs the
course is delivered, in post-secondary or continuing
education; Associate Dean approval
• Resources – are attached to the master course outline on a
program-by-program basis; Faculty submit
• Quick Link/CLink to Standards – links to Vocational Standards
(VS), Essential Employability Skills (EE), and External Standards
(ES), as appropriate, are attached to the master course
outline on a program-by-program basis; Faculty submit
• Each element must be approved individually in order for
students to access course outlines upon registration.
Quick Linking

CLinking
Should not be used on a regular
basis, especially for programs that
have undergone program review

Is often used, however, by new
faculty or those who are not
familiar with program mapping.

Identifies which vocational
standards (VS), essential
employability skills (EE), and/or
external standards (ES) the course
(as a whole) helps the student
accomplish

Quick Linking is used during for the:


Is Mohawk’s preferred method of
linking to standards

Identifies which course learning
outcomes help the student
achieve VS, EEs, and ES by the end
of the program, and to what
degree:




very significant = 4
significant = 3
moderate = 2
minor = 1

Used to develop Curriculum
Mapping Matrix (CMM)
 Program approval process

 Credentials Validation Service
(CVS) process
Maintains up-to-date program
map

The CMM is the basis of program
mapping and informs on-going
program quality enhancement and
program review
