SUMMARY
• Several IEC standards are adopted by Peruvian Standards,
but we will start the adoption of TC-31 standards by 2014.
• The hazardous locations classification is regulated by the
Electrical Code. Classe I (Zones 0,1,2), Classe II and III
(Divisions 1, 2).
• Currently, there are not both the certification of electrical
products and the conformity assessment procedures;
however, usually it requires the certification in the country of
origin.
• The regulations on Explosive Atmospheres, cover in general
way but not sistematically, the entire life cycle of plants
containing hazardous areas; by means of compliance
National Electrical Code and the regulations of the
Hydrocarbons General Directorate.
