INTRODUCTION

A robot is a machine that can be programmed to perform a task.

The word robot comes from the word robot in the Czechoslovakian
language, which means slave-like work or forced work.

Today, robots are primarily used in industry.

Typically, robots are used to perform tasks that are dull, dirty, and/or
dangerous.

Robots increase production capability; improve product quality, and
lower production costs.

It is likely that very soon there will be almost totally ‘human-free’
factories. Perhaps just one or two people will program or monitor the
computers and carry out routine maintenance to robots and other
machines.


The robots used in industry usually consist of a mechanical arm
controlled by a computer.
The arm is jointed in one or more places and there is a "hand" at the
end of the arm. The 'hand" is called an end effector.

Each end effector is designed specifically for a particular job.
Among the simplest jobs is "pick and place" where a robot may take
something from one place and move it to another.

Robots can do many different kinds of tasks but they still need
humans to control them and give instructions.

A robot is not intelligent by itself and can perform only those tasks
for which it is given a set of instructions or program.

Computers act as the robot's brain.
OBJECTIVES





It’s mainly consist of cylinder, piston and arm.
The fluid used in this process are water.
The arm is used to pickup the object.
The piston link to connected to arm.
It is used to fabricated pickup one place to another.

Sheet metal rods of cross-section are selected.
They are cut into required length as per the given diagram.
They are welded by using arc welding to form the bottom and top
metal frames.
The two cross-links are also made by welding these rods by using arc
welding.
Then the metal plates are cut into required size
In GI metal piece, 6 holes made by using drill bit.
The arms are connected by bolts and nuts.
The syringes are connected by nylon tubes.
The arms and syringes are connected by using threads.
Finally the project was painted.
WORKING PRINCIPLE

The power for a robotic arm can either
be electric, hydraulic, or pneumatic.

Hydraulics is putting liquids under
pressure

Pneumatics is putting gases under
pressure.

The power supply acts like the robot's
heart and muscles. It provides the
energy for pushing, pulling, turning and
lifting.

ADVANTAGES:
1.Used to pick & place the object.
2.used in automobile company.
3.used in JCB’S arm.
DISADVANTAGES;
1.Fluid rate is high.
2.Hydraulic cylinder cost is high.
3.Need to maintanance.
FUTURE SCOPE

If move time and move efforts would have been
put in to the model more complexities have been
brought more over instead of manual operation of
syringes could have been replaced by pre-defined
computer program or merely by this processing the
switch operated further more variety and more
flexibility to add or replaced any part according to
requirements can be done to improve it’s use and
increase field of usage and to make universal (or)
flexible
APPLICATIONS

These arms are used in assembly lines of mega
factories to assembles various parts of a
product and also to paint a vehicles. They are
also used in earth movers to pick up heavy
weight and keep them where required. Same
principle is being used in JCB’s, automobile
lifters, etc,.
CONCLUSION

The prepared mechanism has been
successfully constrained and executed to carry
out required work of picking up the weight of
objects and place them in required place.
