GENERAL TIPS TO HELP YOUR CHILD
ADJUST TO HIGH SCHOOL
Seek parenting resources.
Ex: Parent Tool Kit(Ontario Directors of Education, online
version available)
Look through the WCI planner. Have them explain
and record their long and short range plans for
school work.
Pay attention to homework: help them learn problem
solving and understand their thinking with probing
questions.
Keep them healthy, good food and sleep are
essential.
Pay attention to their stress level. Listen to them
and involve others if safety is a concern.
Communicate with their teachers.

HAVE A GREAT EVENING
If you chose to do so, you may….
1. Do a ‘timetable tour’ visiting your son
or daughter’s classrooms.
2. Have a general WCI tour. Student
volunteers are willing to show you
around.
