limited income. This includes children and parents, pregnant women, people
with disabilities, and seniors. Medicaid programs are run by states with a
mix of state and federal funding.

Medicaid is the largest children’s health program in the country and the primary
source of health care for low-income families and elderly and disabled people.
One in six Americans under age 65 is insured through Medicaid.
Half of all Medicaid enrollees are children and 78% live in households where at
least one parent works.
Covers over 70,000 children in Delaware.
Provides health insurance coverage for part or all of the year to one in three
children.
It is estimated that 19,051 Delaware children are uninsured. 55% of these
uninsured children are eligible but not enrolled in Medicaid or the State
Children’s Health Insurance Program.
