Shree Ganesh Metaliks Ltd
INTRODUCTION
Shree Ganesh Metaliks Ltd is a family business group operating
in & around Rourkela for about six decades in multifarious
business activities.
A) INITIAL BUSINESS
It all started with Late Nathmal Agarwal who made a humble
beginning way back in mid-twentieth century, trading primarily
in Textiles. It was a huge success and is now being operated
under the aegis of extended family of late. N. Agarwal.
B) DIVERSIFICATION
i) Having tasted success in textiles, diversification inevitably took place and
contracting business for civil works was taken up in the name of “
Agarwal Construction Company “It became one of the most versatile &
reputed contractors of the region having executed large projects for Larsen
& Turbo ,Tata group etc.
ii) Business was further diversified into Rolling-Mill, mechanised bricks,
trading in steel & iron items etc which were operated successfully. Taking
over agency of Hindustan Lever was just another example of
diversification.

C)PRESENT PRIME BUSINESS
After the untimely demise of Nathmal Agarwal, his six able sons took it
upon themselves to continue with the show. Business grew further &
they decided to go in for manufacturing sponge iron.
I) Shree Ganesh Metaliks Limited.
The factory at Chandrihariharpur is well laid-out over a vast land(further
land, contiguous with the present location ,is under process of
acquirement).It is located in a booming industrial belt of Orissa.4 kilns
of 100TPD capacity each had been installed. All necessary back-up
facilities i.e DG sets, compressors etc are in place.
II) MMIPL
Another Sponge iron factory, MAA MANGLA ISPAT PRIVATE LTD, had
been taken over at Raigarh,Chhatishgarh with 2X100 TPD capacity & has
been operating since early 2008.It is also provided with all back-up
facilities.
Market for Shree Ganesh Metaliks Limited/MMIPL is not only in and
around Orissa,but spreads to far-off places like U.P,Assam etc.
The demand for Sponge iron in steel industry is very high. The demand for
Shree Ganesh Metaliks Limited/MMIPL sponge iron is much more than
their production capacity,so much so that there is hardly any need for
SALES PROMOTION as of now.
III)RML
Parallelly,a side business is being run in trading of steel, sheets etc in
the name of RAVI METALLICS LTD, it is operated from Rourkela
corporate office.

D) MANAGEMENT & PERSONNEL
Agarwal brothers have divided the responsibility of various
functions, e.g Production, General Administration, Personnel,
Finance, Material Management etc among themselves. Two of them
are stationed at Raigarh. Mr. Manoj Kumar Agarwal is the
Managing Director for the group of companies and operates from
the corporate office located at A-1, Commercial Complex,Civil
township,Rourkela. The office occupies entire first & second floor
of the complex. Three of their sons, after completing their higher
education, have also joined in the family business & have made
their mark already. It is a unique well-knit family group and works
in commendable cohesion. The group has employed adequate no of
personnel (staff & workmen), suitably qualified and experienced,
for production, maintenance, accounts, administration etc. They are
well looked after, have a high sense of dedication & belongingness.
A separate cell, comprising of a group of senior & junior engineers,
headed by a Director, has also been set up to look after the
implementation of future projects.

E) FUTURE PROJECTS
Shree Ganesh Metaliks Limited has already undertaken installation of one
32MW power plant & 4X15 T induction furnaces within the present factory
premises and work is under execution. In the pipeline are installation of Coal
washery plant, Ash handling plant, concast billet unit.
Plans are afoot to go in for Real Estate Business. Three prime plots in the
heart of Rourkela city on Rourkela main road have been purchased
admeasuring 0.46 acre,0.89acre & 0.74 acre. A Mall, a Housing Complex and
a Commercial complex are proposed to be built on these plots respectively.
Another plot of 3.7 acre at Vedvyas (a fast developing area on the outskirts of
Rourkela),was possessed decades back, where the machine brick factory
existed. In distant future, this area is planned to be converted in to huge
Housing Complex.
The mall & the commercial complex projects are already under execution.
