Connexall Features
are the Tools
with which we
Build Connexall Solutions
Let’s start with the tool box…
• Connexall is comprised of over a 100+
individual software components: servers,
clients, utilities, drivers, etc.
• All of these parts are compiled and packaged
together into a major “release” or “build”
– Denoted by a major version number “i.e. 3.0, 4.0,
5.0, etc.”
• Each release typically has a significant new
feature offering or unique “theme”
Past Major Connexall Product Releases
•Architecture
•Core Functionality
•High Availability
•Location Services
•User Object
•Assignment Sharing
Plus every release incorporates enhancements to…
Integrations + Workflow Tools + System Performance
Since Version 5, We’ve Been Busy!
And the Theme for Connexall Version 6 is…
•Reporting!
and of course…
• More Integrations!
• More Workflow Tools!
• Better Performance!
Opening the Version 6 Toolbox…
“You can’t manage what you can’t measure”
Legacy Connexall Reporting
• Comprehensive reports have existed in
Connexall since version 1.0
• Reports were “baked” into the product
– Easy to deploy and access
• Wide array of tabular and graphical
formats
Legacy Reporting Challenges
• Reports were designed to be very generic, to
work with any/all solutions.
– Some terminology used in the reports was not familiar
to some users
• Legacy reporting framework lacked key
functionality:
– Scheduling
– Customization
A New Reporting Framework: SSRS
SSRS Reports: What Are They?
• A suite of 16+ comprehensive Connexall activity
reports based on Microsoft SQL Server
Reporting Services
– Tabular, chart, trend, heat-map, and gauge styles
• SSRS enables “web-based” reporting via a
standard browser
• Allows anyone in enterprise to access Connexall
reports (with appropriate permissions).
SSRS Reports: Key Advantages
• Reporting can now be decoupled from Connexall
source code
• New or modified reports can now be created without
having to deploy updated Connexall executables.
• In addition to browser, key SSRS reports can be
launched via the legacy DAC report dialog.
• Maintains seamless compatibility and user experience
for legacy sites.
• Faster report generation
• Reports are rendered on the server, not the client
workstation.
SSRS Reports: Key Advantages
• Scheduled reports!
• A long-standing feature request that wasn’t practical
using legacy reporting.
• Supports the creation of “Linked” reports
• Allows a simplification of input criteria for specific
units, users or departments in the facility
• Custom reports!
• Through your own in-house DBA/analyst resource
• Through engagement of Connexall professional
services
SSRS Reports: System Requirements
• Requires SQL Server 2008(R2) and Microsoft Reporting
Services 2008 SP2 or higher.
• Reports are deployed and managed using Microsoft
SSRS Report Manager
• Connexall CDC client is required to supply activity data
into the SQL Server database.
• Installation package includes:
– 16+ Report Definition files (RDL)
– SQL Server script file (auto-configures required stored
procedures, functions and extended properties)

“Bypass Suspend on Count”
• The Connexall “suspend” feature can
greatly reduce alarm fatigue by filtering
sporadic short duration events that are
clinically irrelevant.
• However for some clinical alarms, a given
number of sporadic events within a certain
period of time can signify a problem that
does require the caregiver’s attention…
