メリカのポピュラー・ソングの中で最も重要
で最も影響をもたらした作品の「基準
(canon)」をいう。
その基準とは、作曲家であり評論家であった
Alec Wilderが1972年に出版した“American
Popular Song: The Great Innovators, 1900–
1950 “に基づいている。

