Object of the Association
The Object of the Association shall be to promote & direct service work
through fellowship amongst its members, to end that:
They may enjoy personal development through Kin
They may be improved and educated in modern business and
professional methods and ethics
The involvement of each in the enrichment of their community may be
stimulated
A spirit of cooperation, tolerance, understanding and equality among all
nations and peoples be fostered and that unity of thought and
purpose throughout Canada be established toward this goal
They shall serve their community’s greatest need
The Association and You
As Kinsmen & Kinettes, we belong to a very special
association and should be proud of our achievements.
Our pride in the Canadian way of life and personal
development increases with our Kin experience.
The Association is represented in all parts of Canada
by members of all creeds and colours. The high ideals
of fellowship, personal development, and a
commitment to community service unites us all.
As of February 28 2013, there are 284 Kinsmen Clubs,
154 Kinette Clubs and 35 Kin Clubs representing a
total membership of 6565.

History of Kin Canada





Founded by Harold Rogers (Hal) February 20, 1920, in
Hamilton, Ontario
First club – The Kinsmen Club of Hamilton
1921 – Club in Montreal, Winnipeg, Vancouver
First National Convention 1922 in Hamilton
Kinsmen wives started meeting in the late 1920’s

KIN CANADA HISTORY
Information
The name of the organization is KIN CANADA
The Association Crest: Our emblem is composed of a cross and square
intertwined and surrounded by thirteen maple leaves. The cross is a
St. Andrew’s cross, which has been the symbol of service by personal
sacrifice for centuries, and the underlying principle of the Kin Association.
The square had been the symbol of virtue and justice for ever long.

Kin Flag: The Kin flag shall
be twice as long as it wide
with the white background
Meetings
Club Level
At the general meetings all members discuss the business of our Association and
exchange information.
At the executive meetings all executive officers share ideas about the long and
short term plan of their club.
Zone Level
Spring Zone business meetings are to discuss issues at the Zone level.
District Level
There are two meetings; Fall Leadership Conference and District Convention.
National Level
The Annual General Meeting (AGM) is held once a year in August.

Cystic Fibrosis Canada
money raised is used for research programs to find a cure
or control for the disease
Cystic Fibrosis Canada was suggested as a National
project in the mid 1970s but it was not until 1987 that it
was officially adopted as a our national service project
