Eligibility Criteria
1. Passed 10 + 2 :
2. have also qualified in one of the
following examinations:

SA, SB, SP streams.
4. IIT JEE- merit list or
extended merit list.

Extended Merit Lists
are six times the lengths of
the corresponding JEE Merit Lists.
Stream SA:
Students enrolled in the XI Standard (Science Subjects)
during the academic year
and have secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST) marks
in aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects
in the X Standard Board Examination.
Stream SB+2:
Students enrolled in Class 12 (+2) of the academic year
and aspiring to join undergraduate program in
Basic Sciences (B.Sc / Int. M.Sc)
for the forth coming session
provided they secured a minimum of 75% (65% for SC/ST)
marks aggregate in MATHEMATICS and SCIENCE subjects
in the X Standard Board Examination.
Stream SP (Basic Sciences):
Students enrolled in XI/XII standard, I/II year (B.Sc./Int. M.Sc.)
in Basic Sciences during the academic year 2009 – 2010
and have secured a minimum of 60% (50% for SC/ST) marks
in aggregate in the X & XII Standard Board Examinations.
A hard copy of an original and creative science based
research project
is required along with the application.

SELECTION PROCEDURE
Basic Sciences (SA and SB)
After scrutiny of application forms
and based on the performance in the Board Examination,
all the eligible candidates from Streams SA and SB are
called for a written aptitude test (multiple choice).
The test is conducted at different centers across the country
on First Sunday of November
The details of the venue of the aptitude tests
Is put on to the KVPY website in October
Based on the performance in the aptitude test candidates
Are called for an interview
which is the final stage of the selection procedure.
