UNL Health Requirements
• All international students must have:
– a Quantiferon lab test for tuberculosis at UHC
• Quantiferon lab test replaces the PPD test
– records that show two measles (MMR) shots
Meeting the Requirements - Quantiferon
 Quantiferon test for tuberculosis
• Quantiferon – TB Gold test brochure
• One appointment with a nurse
• Will draw blood at this visit
• Requirement met if the Quantiferon test is negative

Positive Quantiferon Test
• Positive or indeterminate test
• Letter is sent to you
– Schedule a visit
– Physician visit and chest X-ray
are required
Meeting the Requirement
–Measles (MMR)
• Copy of your vaccine (shot) records from your
home country or USA showing two measles shots
(MMRs)
OR
• “Positive Measles Blood Titer” report from a
laboratory or doctor
Measles shots (MMRs) can be given at UHC if needed

Complete the Requirements

in two weeks

– Avoid holds on future
registration
Medical Insurance
• Required for all IEP students
• Automatic enrollment for F1 and J1
• Waive the insurance plan if you can show
documentation of a comparable plan
– Internet plans are not accepted

• Covered UHC services paid at 100%
– Includes most laboratory; physical therapy;
radiology; specialty; counseling and psychological
services; and annual exam expenses
– Covers Quantiferon test and MMR titer test
• Two cleanings for your teeth at the UHC Dental
Office
• UHC Pharmacy for drugs and medications
