GAINING YOUR PRIVATE PILOTS
LICENCE (PPL)

Minimum 45 hours (national average is more).
10 hours solo.
7 written exams (approx 120 hours groundschool).

Full Time, dedicated Instructors.

NIGHT QUALIFICATION
• 5 Hours.
• Training undertaken in a PA38 or PA28.
• Pre and post flight briefings.
• Only part in your flight training where there is
no test.

ATPL GROUNDSCHOOL
• 14 written exams.
• Wider variety and in more detail than what
was covered in PPL.
• 2 ways: distance learning or full time.
• 6 -12 months.

HOUR BUILDING
• In order to qualify to do a Commercial Pilots Licence
(CPL):
• 100 hours Pilot in Command, Qualifying Cross Country 300nm including 2 landaways - and a Night Qualification.
• Flying solo: confidence, accuracy and increase skills.
• Use time well!

COMMERCIAL PILOTS LICENCE
(CPL)
• 28 hour course (includes MEP).
• Split between PA28 and PA34 or PA27.
• Introduction to complex aircraft.
• Prior to starting, applicants must have
completed their ATPL ground exams.
• Course typically lasts between 4-6 weeks.
• 100% 1st Series pass rate with our current
instructors!

INSTRUMENT RATING (IR)
• 45 or 55 hour course.
• 30 or 35 hours in our FNPT II Simulator.
• 15 or 20 hours in the aircraft.
• Ground briefings.
• 170A Flight Test.
• IR Training Manual and approved checklists for aircraft.
• IR training is carried out under the supervision of ex Airline Pilots.
• Backseating.
• Typically course lasts between 6-8 weeks.
• Aim to produce highly trained Professional Pilots, with excellent
first time pass rates.

MCC (MULTI-CREW COOPERATION COURSE)
• The objectives of MCC training are to optimise
communication, division of tasks, use of checklists,
mutual supervision, teamwork and support
throughout all phases of flight under normal,
abnormal and emergency conditions.
• The training emphasises the development of non technical skills applicable to working in a Multi-Crew
environment.
• Some airlines have recommended suppliers.

• Trial Lesson (30 or 60 minutes).

• ATPL groundschool, Night Qualification and hour
building (from 8 -14 months).
• Commercial Pilot’s Licence and Multi-Engine Rating (4 6 weeks) You can now officially get paid for flying, within
licence limitations.
