Importance of Streaming • Students are streamed based on – Personal preference/choice – Academic merits • Impact of choice of subjects during streaming – Subject combination at Sec 3 and 4, – Options of post-secondary education, – Career path

Parent/Guardians’ Role • Be aware of current education trends and options available.

• Monitor child/ward’s progress at home.

• Help child/ward manage time and stress level.

• Work closely with FT/Co-FT to ensure child/ward’s potential is optimized.

• Provide encouragement and motivation.

How is streaming carried out?

• Online application via school website.

Indicate your options View the results of the streaming exercise. (ie: Allocated choice) Appeal requests are done online through this portal. Click on the Appeals tab under the results

Important • All relevant documents are available on the school website and on the portal.

• It is students’ responsibility to opt for their choice of studies.

• After making subject choices, print out the confirmation notice for reference.

• If no option is registered by the deadline, student will be allocated to any available option.

Principles underlying Sec 2 Streaming Process (Normal Technical)

• Our basic approach is to provide a set of courses in which you can score well and which will allow you the widest choice of course at the next level.

• The school is determined to help every BPIAN to achieve this target.

• We will work with parents to get a win-win situation for every one of you.

• It is important to realise that having more subjects does NOT guarantee getting a better L1B2.

• It is better to take six subjects and get As than take seven subjects and score a mixture of As and Bs.
