Information
AFNOR has been allocated the secretariat of Technical Committee CEN/TC 346/WG 005.
This european responsibility consists in :

Organising, steering and leading the european standardization work

Coordinating the relations with the European authorities and actors (European Commission, trade
associations, european standardization bodies,…)

Coordinating the relations with the national standardization bodies of each participating country and the
European standardization experts’ network
Scope
WG5 "Transportation and packaging methods" has the responsibility for the drafting of standards on methods of packaging and
transportation of cultural heritage outside the institutions.

Information
International and European standards are based on the contributions of the participating countries. Each country
appoints a national delegation to represent their position. In France, the exchange of views and consensus on
national contributions take place in national committees mirroring the international or European group.
Participating in these national committees allows the members :

To monitor the progress of the european and international standardization work.

To identify the contribution of the different participating countries, and to prepare the French standpoint
that will be presented at european or international level

To express the national position on the draft standards
As a member, you are entitled and expected to influence the development of the standards, and to participate in
the consensus building process. By participating, you become part of the solution and ensure your views are

Status:
 Arbeidsgruppen arbeider med utforming av europeiske standarder for pakking og transport av kulturgjenstander.
Standarden består av en standard for pakking og en for transport.
 25 deltakere fra 10 europeiske land har deltatt på møter
(fra Frankrike, Tyskland, Belgia, Nederland, Danmark, Sverige, Norge, Enfland, Italia og Spania)
Av representerte yrkesgrupper deltar registrarer, konservatorer og transportører samt representanter fra forsikringsbransjen
og forskningsinstitutt (hvor de bl.a. arbeider med vibrasjoner under transport.)
Under arbeid (utkast) ”Conservation of cultural property – Transport methods”
Diskusjon rundt spesifiseringsnivåene i dokumentet, som
hvilken type av dokumentene/ fraktpapirene skal være med under transport,
Skal ”facility report” sendes med transporten/ kurer? (avvist pga. sikkerhetsspørsmål)
Standard for loading list
Diskusjon rundt anbud, kostnadsoversikt og transportplanlegging. (For eksempel hva forventer man og hvilke
tjeneste tilbyr transportøren)

FprEN15946 Conservation of Cultural property – Packing principles for transport
Dette forslaget er vedtatt som europeisk standard og dermed
også som norsk standard.
Den skal foreligge som europeisk standard først og som norsk
standard i mai 2012 i henhold til tidsplanene.

for unpacking” og ”transport methods, before transport”
England ber om endring ”prEN 15946 Conservation of Cultural PropertyPacking principles for transport” (støtter ikke standarden)
