Sensor Configuration

The T-Gauge ® Sensor Configuration changes the paradigm of online process control. By coupling a T-Gauge Pulsed Terahertz Controller with an umbilical and a Sensor head, a high fidelity terahertz pulse can be produced. The rich data derived from the pulsed terahertz signal allows multiple measurements from a single sensor. The multitude of connection options allows seamless integration with any QCS system. Measurements of basis weight, density, caliper thickness, multi-layer thickness and moisture can be made with a single compact sensor technology.

The T-Gauge ® Pulsed Terahertz Controller is the heart of the T-Gauge fastest, full featured time domain terahertz controller available.

® Sensor Configuration. The Controller comprises the short pulse laser, time delay rail, and data collection electronics. With a waveform acquisition time of 10ms, the TCU5210 is the By using pulse Time-of-Flight (ToF) to make its measurements, the T Gauge ® Sensor Configuration has greater insensitivity to environmental and material variations that can lead to calibration inaccuracies.

The terahertz energy emitted by the T-Gauge ® Sensor is so low, that there are no safety concerns with operation. No radioactive materials and no ionizing radiation is used.
