Loan element of USD 50 million.

CERF was the largest and fastest source of funding to
the 2010 Flash Appeals
•
CERF evens gaps across appeals

But….. CERF is only 7% of global humanitarian
contributions

Management of CERF
The CERF is managed, on behalf of the Secretary-General,
by the Emergency Relief Coordinator (ERC)
• OCHA’s CERF Secretariat supports the ERC in fund
management
In addition
• CERF receives guidance from the CERF Advisory Group
• Eighteen members are nominated by Member States and
selected by the UN Secretary-General
• Members serve three-year terms
