Phosphorus Cycle

Carbon Cycle


Plants use Carbon
dioxide and
sunlight for
energy.
Plants die and
turn into fossil
fuels like oil and
coal.


People burn fossil fuels and carbon is released
into the atmosphere.
Carbon dioxide traps heat inside the Earth’s
atmosphere.


Some animals absorb carbon to build their
tissues.
When the animals breath carbon dioxide is
released, also when they die the carbon is
absorbed into the soil.

Phosphorus Cycle

Phosphorus Cycle is the movement of
phosphorus from land to sediments in the seas
and then back to land.

On Earth, phosphorus is usually found in water,
soil and sediments. (Phosphorus usually liquid
when normal temperature.)

Phosphorus moves from and deposits on land
and also in sediments. This then is moved to
living organisms. Then it is transferred back to
land.

Phosphorus aids in plant growth. That is why we
often use phosphorus fertilizer.
