MC 602 - Introduction
Display, Anti-collision and Zoning system specially
designed for tower cranes.
Result of 20 years of research, collaboration and job site
experiences.
Compliant with latest European safety regulation.
In accordance with the EN14439.
MC 602 - Functions
 Display : Possible to display all basic functions for the
crane driver: Load, trolley, swing, hoist, moment and wind.
 Zoning : Prevent a single crane from over flying up to 10
forbidden areas.
 Anti-collision: Manage the collision risk of up to 16 cranes.
 Log of critical events (access protected with password)
- Failures and bypass.
 Graphic display showing forbidden zones and opposite
cranes with collision risk.
 Local graphic “mini supervisor.”
- State of opposite cranes.
- Radio communication level.

MC 602 – Anti-collision (the case to consider)
What are the possible case management with the MC 602 ?
1st case - Rope to Jib or counter-jib.
- The collision risk must be managed between the rope of [TC1] and the
jib or counter-jib of [TC2].
- This scenario is valid only if the 2 jibs can never touch.

MC 602 – The positive safety
3 cases of positive safety.
 Internal fault (system failure or not powered).
 External fault (communication between systems).
 Free slewing (crane set to weathervane).

MC 602 – The advantages
More Reliable.
Safer.
High Performance.
Cranes compatibility.
MC 602 – The advantages
More reliable.
- All connections with plugs to prevent wiring mistakes.
- Spare parts available at least 10 years after last delivery.
- ASCOREL is a sustainable company due to its several activities, not only in
tower cranes business.
Safer.
- Fail safe principle for all sensors and all communications.
- All electronic units have been approved in official laboratories.
- By pass detection and register (and also register of all other events).
- Settings are stored in two locations (PLC and display devices).
MC 602 – The advantages
High performance.
- Graphical display showing position of each crane and forbidden areas.
- Calculation accuracy = 1 cm & 0.1° => global accuracy = 10cm.
- Maximum travelling length = 650m with sensor accuracy < 10cm.
- Complete radio time cycle < 400ms with 16 cranes (all interfering with 15 other
cranes).
- Settings made directly from the display unit (no extra tool needed).
- Possibility to connect a 2nd display for service from the ground without disturbing
the operator.
- Speed reducing before stop of the slewing motion.
- Possibility to update PLC or display device software from the ground through CAN
Bus.
- Compatible with the TOP TRACING.
MC 602 – The advantages
Cranes compatibility.
- Universal slewing sensor without internal gears to adapt.
- Comes with everything needed for a quick and easy installation (plugs, brackets…).
- Compatible with all brands of tower cranes, luffing jib and overhead cranes.
