•
Due to long network lengths,
voltage limits have been
reached with very little ability
to optimally distribute power.
Studies done on the networks
indicate the need to migrate
from 11kV to 22kV distribution
voltage.

Clontarf 88kV SS
•
Clontarf SS is an 88/11/22 kV
Substation. It has one 7.5MVA
88/11kV transformer and one
2.5MVA 11/22kV transformer.
The original station was built in
1974 and is now 34 years old.

Rutland 33kV SS
•
Rutland SS will experience
loading constraints on the
33kV in feed. This substation
has undergone a capacity
upgrade to 2X10MVA 33/11kV
transformers.
•
Plans to convert Rutland to an
88kV SS are being
investigated. Mining supply will
be used as the trigger for the
HV voltage upgrade.
•
