Outcome/Update
The CCG will write to each practice regarding next steps for the Over 75s work. 32 practices have signed up with
Suffolk Federation for this scheme, the 6 DHG practices have submitted a joint proposal with a range of schemes
and a further 3 practices have submitted individual proposals
Ipswich Hospital, West Suffolk Hospital and NSFT contracts have been signed. The Deed of Variation with Serco is
pending and Contract summaries will be available on our web page as soon as these are available.
Practices were emailed details of the new community primary care contracts on the 2 April, which included details
of how they differ from the schemes that ran in 2013/14 and how to receive payment. Queries relating to this can

NB. Community primary care contracts are what were previously known as Local Enhanced Services (LESs)
The new enhanced service has been issued to practices and the CCG are currently working with the Area Team to
look at how we can support you. The enhanced service is designed to help reduce avoidable unplanned
admissions by improving services for vulnerable patients and those with complex physical or mental health needs,
who are at high risk of hospital admission of re-admission.
Subject to the audit, the CCG has achieved financial balance in 2013/14. The audited accounts will be presented
to membership on 25th June at an AGM (after the training and education event at Trinity Park)
RAIDR (Reporting Analysis & Intelligence Delivering Results) is being rolled out to practices in Suffolk between
April and June. RAIDR is a business intelligence tool, which has been developed by North of England
Commissioning Support (NECS) over the last four years.
RAIDR provides healthcare professionals in commissioning and primary care with a single portal for all their
information, integrating previously isolated data sources from primary and secondary care. It puts the user in total
control – no more waiting for reports, no more estimating, just fast answers to critical questions in easy to
understand graphical dashboards
The RAIDR project team will be contacting practices soon to complete user account forms to

Suffolk Sexual Health Services
Outcome/Update
Cambridgeshire Community Services NHS Trust, which manages Suffolk Sexual Health Services, has
confirmed that the new Orwell clinic will open to patients in Ipswich on Monday 28 April. The Orwell clinic
will be on the former Holywells School, Lindberg Road and brings together two existing clinics, located at
Ipswich Hospital and Trotman Court. Patients will be able to access all aspects of sexual health, including
contraception, HIV care and STI testing and treatment in a single location in Ipswich for the first time.
The new clinic will be widely publicised to ensure that your patients and other stakeholders are aware. A
formal launch is also being organised to show you around the new facilities. More details will follow soon.
The way you refer to these services and contact details will not change. Other clinics/services run by Suffolk
Sexual Health Services remain unaffected.

Acute Knee Clinic Referral Guidelines
Included in the delegate packs is guidelines for referring to the acute knee clinic. Currently some patients are
being referred to the fracture clinic rather than this “Acute Knee Injury Clinic”
New Gall Bladder Pathway at Ipswich
Hospital
New Gall Bladder Pathway at Ipswich Hospital, for patients with several acute hospital admissions prior to
surgery with painful cholecystitis – patients who are admitted during the week with symptomatic gallstones
will undergo surgery that Friday morning – they will be sent home and given a slot for the surgical list. The
pathway will save repeat admission and deal with pain and infection quickly via access to guarantee surgery.
EPaCCS - the advanced care planning for patients – Palliative Care Coordination System – launches on 6th
May, is based on a Systm One unit and is hosted by St Elizabeth Hospice

Community Glaucoma Service
If a patient is referred to this service for low risk/stable glaucoma they remain with this service unless their
condition changes and then this service will refer them back to hospital, there is no need for GPs to refer the
patient back into the hospital
