LC Decisions
• When is it appropriate to convert an imported
AACR2 record to RDA?
• What are the common differences between AACR2
and RDA that should be checked when importing
records that can be converted to RDA?
• What are the LC practices, including “LC core”
elements, that should be addressed when importing
records that are already RDA or will be converted to
RDA
• When may a cataloging technician need to consult
with an RDA cataloger regarding authority records or
authorized access points?

– accept the cataloging of other libraries as much

RDA Implementation
• Implementation decision for RDA made in
June 2011

• To address issues such as training,
documentation, RDA development, LC
decides to return most of its RDA testers to
RDA cataloging in November of 2011
