Pyramids

5.1
A hexagonal pyramid of base edge 40 mm and axis height 90 mm
is resting on its base with axis parallel to VP and one edge of the base
perpendicular to VP. A square hole of 40 mm side is cut through the pyramid
with axis coinciding the axis of pyramid, such that two vertical faces of the
hole are at 20° to VP. Draw lateral surface development of the cut pyramid.

5.2
A pentagonal pyramid resting on its base with side of base 40 mm
and height 75 mm, having one of the sides of the base parallel to the V.P. and
away from the V.P. A square hole of side 24 mm is drilled through it such that
its axis is parallel to H.P. and perpendicular to V.P. and intersects the axis of
the pyramid 30 mm from the base. The faces of the hole are equally inclined
to the H.P. Draw the lateral surface development of the pyramid with the
hole.

5.3
A square pyramid ( side of base 50 mm and axis 60 mm ) is kept on
the H.P. on its base with two of its sides of base parallel to V.P. An axial
square hole of side 25 mm is cut through the pyramid. so that the vertical face
of the hole are equally inclined to V.P. Draw projections of the solid and
show the development of the lateral surface of the solid.

5.4
A square pyramid, side of base 50 mm and axis 70 mm long is
resting on the ground on its base with its two sides of the base inclined at 30°
to the V.P. An axial square hole of sides 3() mm is cut through the pyramid so
that the vertical faces of the hole are equally inclined to the V.P. Draw the
projection ( Front view and top view) of the solid, show the development of
the lateral surface of the solid.
Cones

5.5
A cone with diameter of base 80 mm, true length of generator
80 mm rests with its base on H.P. An equilateral triangular through slot
having its axis perpendicular to V.P. and parallel to H.P. is cut through
the cone such that the base of the slot parallel to the base of cone and 15
mm above it, and one of the sides of the slot is parallel to one of the end
generator of the cone at a distance 15 mm and the other side coincides
with the other end generator of the cone. Draw F.V., T.V. and
development of lateral surface.

5.6
A cone of diameter of base 80 mm and height 80 mm stands
vertically on its base in H.P. A semicircular hole of diameter 50 mm is cut
through the cone, the axis of the hole is horizontal and intersects the axis
of the cone and is 30 mm above the base of the cone. The flat face of the
hole contains the axis of the cone sand is perpendicular to V.P. Draw the
development of the cone with hole.

5.7
A vertical semi-cone of diameter 75mm and axis 75mm long has
its semicircular base on H.P. with straight line edge of semicircular base
being parallel to V.P. It has a horizontal square hole of side 30mm. the
axis of square hole is parallel to the H.P. and perpendicular to the V.P.
and intersects the axis of vertical semi-cone at a point 25mm above the
base of semi-cone. All the sides of square hole are equally inclined to
H.P. Develop the lateral surface of semi-cone.
Cylinder

5.8
A cylinder of base diameter 60 mm
and height 100 mm long is lying on the HP. with
its axis parallel to V.P. and perpendicular to H.P. It
has a square hole cut through the curved surface of
the cylinder such that the axis of the square hole is
parallel to H.P. and perpendicular to V.P. The axis
of the square hole is 10mm away from the axis of
the cylinder and towards the right of the observer
and 50 mm above the H.P. The base edges of the
square hole are equal to 40 mm. A flat face of the
square hole which is nearer to H.P. makes an angle
of 30° to it. Using 1:1 scale develop the lateral
surface of the cylinder showing square hole on it,
such that the square hole appears on the centre of
the development of the cylinder.
Prism

5.9
A hexagonal prism of 30 mm side
of base, 60 mm high is resting on its base
vertically on the H.P. with two of its
rectangular faces parallel to V.P. A
horizontal circular hole of 40 mm diameter
is made through it such that axis of hole is
perpendicular to V.P. and bisects the axis of
the prism. Draw the development of the
prism showing the shape of the hole on it.
