or the first competition of the 2017 season under normal conditions, the Birel ART
Racing Team was able to demonstrate the quality of the work carried out during
the winter. The Birel ART drivers and chassis showed very strong competitiveness
in all the international categories during the Winter Cup thanks to the very efficient
engines provided by TM Racing.

«We performed well in the three international categories with several fastest
laps in the OK and OK-Junior races, as
well as regularly occupying the front of
the KZ2 field with a Final 4th place finish.
We now have a solid technical and human
foundation to continue our work in this
direction with confidence, in view of the
important deadlines that will soon appear
on the horizon.»
The Winter Cup is never an easy-to-manage
event because of the large number of seasoned
and enthusiastic drivers who participate and the
specificity of the Lonato track. However the Birel
ART Racing Team was eager to battle it out at this
karting temple to test the fruits of the work done
since the beginning of the season in a famous
competition.
Morgan Caron, of Birel ART, takes stock of the
weekend: «It was very important for our team to
be able to validate the options used under real racing conditions, the first two meetings of the year
2017 being held under in unusual weather. We can
be satisfied with the work that has been done in
a short time. First of all, our chassis demonstrated a very interesting
level of performance at Lonato. I would like to congratulate all the
staff of Birel ART and the technical staff of the racing team led by
Rickard who have devoted themselves completely to reach this first
stage.
«The collaboration recently started with TM Racing, whether directly
with the factory or through the intermediary of Daldosso in KZ2,
Machac in OK and GFR in OK-Junior, gives us all satisfaction.
On the 1200m Lonato track, it was in the
highest category, the KZ2, that the Birel
ART drivers achieved the best results of
the weekend. It was a great satisfaction
for the whole team to give a KZ2 driver
the chance to show off against the
most experienced professionals of KZ
throughout the weekend. Although he has
not raced since October, Riccardo Longhi
has found his mark at the wheel of his
Birel ART - TM. He was always in the top
four of the event in addition to a victory in
the qualifying heats and one in his Super
Heat. The KSW Birel ART Austria team
took an active part in this development
with Rick Dreezen, powered by Vortex,
constantly fighting for victory in the lead
group. Felice Tiene finished the meeting
on a positive note thanks to his significant
recovery of 19 places in the Final.
In the OK category, Caio Collet and Rasmus
Lindh (Ricciardo Kart) also showed good
speed with a good time in Qualifying for
the Brazilian and a fastest lap in his Super
Heat for the Swede. Lindh finished the
Final in the top 10.
The young OK-Junior drivers also performed well during the event, as demonstrated by the fastest time in the Super
Heat by Dexter Patterson.
All of the Birel ART Racing drivers are now
well positioned to negotiate the next races
with greater ambitions. The next event
will take place on the first weekend of
March at the 7 Laghi Circuit at Castelletto
di Branduzzo for the second round of the
WSK Super Master Series.

ART Racing Team ha potuto dimostrare la qualità del lavoro effettuato durante
l’inverno. I piloti e i telai Birel ART hanno in effetti dimostrato un’eccezionale
competitività in tutte le categorie internazionali durante la Winter Cup grazie anche
all’efficacia dei motori TM Racing.

La Winter Cup non è mai una prova facile a causa
dell’ingente numero di piloti esperti e molto allenati
che vi partecipano nonché della specificità del tracciato di Lonato. Tuttavia il Birel ART Racing Team era
impaziente di gareggiare in questo tempio del karting per testare in una competizione così importante
i frutti del lavoro fatto dall’inizio della stagione.
Morgan Caron, Birel ART, fa un bilancio del week-end:
“Era importante per il nostro team poter convalidare
le scelte fatte in reali condizioni di gara, dato che
i primi due appuntamenti del 2017 si erano svolti
in condizioni meteo assolutamente eccezionali.
Possiamo ritenerci soddisfatti del lavoro svolto in un
lasso di tempo ridotto. Sono stati innanzitutto i nostri
telai a dimostrare a Lonato un livello di performance
molto interessante. Vorrei congratularmi con tutto il
personale di Birel ART e con lo staff tecnico del racing
team diretto da Rickard per essersi impegnati a fondo per raggiungere
questa prima tappa.
La collaborazione recentemente avviata con TM Racing, direttamente
con l’azienda o tramite i preparatori Daldosso nella KZ2, Machac nella
OK e GFR nella OK-Junior, ci dà molte soddisfazioni.
Siamo stati performanti nelle tre categorie internazionali con vari giri
veloci in gara nella OK e OK-Junior e occupando sempre le prime

regina. È stata una grande soddisfazione

tutto il week-end. Anche se non girava
da ottobre, Riccardo Longhi si è subito
trovato a suo agio al volante del suo Birel
ART-TM. Si è sempre piazzato tra i primi
quattro oltre alla conquista di una vittoria
nella manche di qualificazione e di una
nella Super Heat. Il team KSW Birel ART
Austria ha partecipato attivamente a
questa evoluzione con Rick Dreezen, con
motore Vortex, sempre in lotta per la vittoria nel gruppo di testa. Felice Tiene ha
chiuso il meeting con una nota positiva
grazie alla sua generosa rimonta di 19
posizioni in finale.
Nella categoria OK, anche Caio Rallet
e Rasmus Lindh (Ricciardo Kart) hanno
dimostrato una buona velocità facendo
registrare il migliore tempo nelle manche
di qualificazione per il brasiliano e un giro
veloce nella Super Heat per lo svedese.
Lindh ha terminato la finale nella Top 10.
Anche i giovani piloti della OK-Junior si
sono messi in luce avanzando efficacemente durante la prova come lo ha
dimostrato il miglior tempo registrato da
Dexter Patterson nella Super Heat.
Tutto il gruppo Birel ART Racing è ormai
ben rodato per poter affrontare le prossime gare con maggiori ambizioni. Il
prossimo appuntamento con le gare sarà
il primo week-end di marzo sul circuito
7 Laghi di Castelletto di Branduzzo in
occasione della seconda prova della WSK

pendant l’hiver. Les pilotes et les châssis Birel ART ont en effet fait preuve d’une
très bonne compétitivité dans toutes les catégories internationales durant la Winter
Cup grâce à la motorisation très efficace assurée par TM Racing.

La Winter Cup n’est jamais une épreuve facile à gérer
à cause du nombre important de pilotes chevronnés et
très entrainés qui y participent ainsi que de la spécificité du tracé de Lonato. Pourtant le Birel ART Racing
Team était impatient d’en découdre dans ce temple du
karting afin de tester dans une compétition réputée les
fruits du travail effectué depuis le début de la saison.
Morgan Caron, Birel ART, dresse le bilan du week-end :
« Il était très important pour notre équipe de pouvoir
valider les options prises dans de vraies conditions
de course, les deux premiers rendez-vous de l’année
2017 s’étant déroulés sous une météo hors norme.
Nous pouvons être satisfaits du travail qui a été réalisé
en un laps de temps réduit. Ce sont d’abord nos châssis
qui ont démontré à Lonato un niveau de performance
très intéressant. Je tiens à féliciter l’ensemble du
personnel de Birel ART et l’équipe technique du racing
team dirigée par Rickard qui se sont donnés pleinement pour atteindre
cette première étape.
La collaboration récemment entamée avec TM Racing, que ce soit directement avec l’usine ou bien par l’intermédiaire des préparateurs Daldosso
en KZ2, Machac en OK et GFR en OK-Junior, nous donne toute satisfaction.
Nous avons été performants dans les trois catégories internationales avec
plusieurs meilleurs tours en course en OK et OK-Junior, ainsi qu’en occupant régulièrement les avant-postes de la KZ2 avec une 4e place finale à la
clé. Nous disposons maintenant de bases solides, sur les plans techniques

victoire en manche qualificative et une
en Super Heat. Le team KSW Birel ART
Austria a participé activement à cette
évolution avec Rick Dreezen, motorisé
par Vortex, constamment en lutte pour
la victoire dans le groupe de tête. Felice
Tiene achevait le meeting sur une note
positive grâce à sa généreuse remontée
de 19 places en finale.
Dans la catégorie OK, Caio Callet et
Rasmus Lindh (Ricciardo Kart) ont également fait preuve d’une bonne vélocité
avec un meilleur temps en manche qualificative pour le Brésilien et un meilleur
tour en Super Heat pour le Suédois. Lindh
achevait d’ailleurs la finale dans le top 10.
Les jeunes pilotes OK-Junior se sont
aussi illustrés, progressant efficacement
pendant l’épreuve comme l’a montré le
meilleur chrono réalisé par Dexter Patterson dans la Super Heat.
L’ensemble des troupes du Birel ART
Racing est désormais bien en place pour
négocier les prochaines courses avec
des ambitions plus élevées. Le prochain
rendez-vous avec la compétition aura
lieu le premier week-end de mars sur le
circuit 7 Laghi de Castelletto di Branduzzo
à l’occasion de la 2e épreuve de la WSK
Super Master Series.
