COMPETITION NOTICE
"MEDITERRANEO FESTIVAL CORTO"
International short film festival
"Cinecircolo Maurizio Grande", based in Diamante (CS), Via Cavour n°4, with the sponsorship of the
City of Diamante (CS - Italy) - Department of Tourism, Culture and Entertainment, in collaboration
with "MATCHNEWS" - Online magazine and "Accademia Italiana del Peperoncino", index the
seventh edition of "MEDITERRANEO FESTIVAL CORTO", the international short film competition
to be held in Diamante (CS) in the 1st,2nd and 3rd of September 2017, with the prestigious
participation of the international Festival "A Corto di Donne" of Pozzuoli, the international festival "La
Lanterna" of Genova and the Fermo Cultural Association "Armonica-Mente - di Villa in Villa".
The Festival will be divided into three evenings: the first will see an introspective of Peppino
Impastato, with screenings and discussions about his life and his commitment against the Mafia; the
second one will start with a talk the theme "Cinema and Theatre" and with the participation of experts
and afterwards the winning films of the Festival; the third evening will focus on screenings and awards
the winners of the remaining film to the "Mediterraneo Festival Corto".
Art. 1) - The purpose of the Festival is to promote the expressive and artistic form of the short film
authors and companies from an independent background.
Art. 2) - The competition works in Italy and abroad, provided that fit the requirement as per article 1 of
this competition notice.
Art. 3) - It expected to pay a share of Euro 5,00 (Five) for each short film sent, as a contribution to the
organizational costs of the Prize, to be paid by bank transfer on the current account "Bancoposta" IT 45
C 07601 16200 001031262999 payable to Cinecircolo Maurizio Grande, via Cavour, 4 -87023
Diamante (CS) - Italy, stating the reason enrollment in the aforementioned competition. The proof of
payment must be attached on the documentation to be sent with the work, it will be excluded from the
competition. You can participate in one or more sections, paying the respective shares for each film
submitted.
Art. 4) - There are two sections, and for both the duration of the work must not exceed 20 (twenty)
minutes including credits (works will be admitted with small excess waste). In particular:
Section A: The theme will be free as well as the genre (fiction, documentary, animation, etc.).

Section B: Schools. The prize, on any subject, will award the best film made by students of
compulsory school and / or high school students.
Art. 5) - The prizes will be assigned as follows:
Best Short Film:
500,00 Euro + plate + parchment with motivation
Best Cinematography:
plate + parchment with motivation
Press Prize Matchnews: Matchnews Prize + parchment with motivation
Best Actor / Actress:
plate + parchment with motivation
Best Soundtrack:
plate + parchment with motivation
Extraordinary Mention: plate + parchment with motivation, and lead an evening of projection "ad
hoc" in the month of December 2017.
For Section Schools:
Best Short Film:
plate "Armonica-Mente - di Villa Villa" + parchment with motivation.
Art. 6) - Foreign language films must be subtitled in Italian.
Art. 7) - The short films will be sent to the secretariat of the award by mailing to: Cinecircolo Maurizio
Grande - Via Cavour, 4 - 87023 Diamante (CS) no later than July 15, 2017 (postmark date) or by
electronic delivery of files (.mov, .avi, .mp4) through WeTransfer or similar to the email
[email protected] or even preparation of access and the ability to download
videos on the most common platforms (Vimeo , Dropbox, etc.), making it compulsory to send by the
due date indicated above all the documents required by Art. 8 of this notice. The works entered in the
competition are considered only on receipt of the documents required in Art. 8 of this announcement.
Sending all the required material is borne by the participants.
Art. 8) - Each short film must be accompanied by the entry form, the release and the declaration for the
Festival 2017, compiled in every part, and of the payment receipt (required documents); by one or
more set photos in digital format from the movie poster if available, and a director's resume (optional
documents but strongly recommended). Each author is responsible for the content of the work
presented.
Art. 9) - The organization is not responsible for damage or loss of material during the submission of
the same journey by mail or during the online reception of files.
Art.10) - By entering the Festival, the authors fully accept the articles of this announcement, as well as
to deal with all the formalities required, under penalty of disqualification. The absence of one of the
mandatory headings listed in Art. 8 will not allow access to the selections and any loss of the portion of
assets already paid.

Art. 11) - A commission, appointed and composed also by the organizers, will make the selection of
applications, determining the winners. All winning works will be projected or reported in the closing
nights will be held on the 1st, 2nd and 3rd of september 2017 in Diamante (CS), specifically
dedicated. For the Schools section, it will set up a committee of students of the middle and upper
classes that determine the winner film. The contest results will be announced to all participants and
posted on the facebook page: Cinecircolo Maurizio Grande together with information on location, date
and times of the award. The authors of the winning works and those reported will be informed by
phone.
Art. 12) - The jury of the Festival, that will decide the winners, will be made up of artists, experts,
operators, characters relevant to the scope of the film, audiovisual and entertainment. What the jury, no
appeal will be made public on the day of the awards ceremony. The organization of the Festival have
the final decision on controversial cases.
Art. 13) - Non-participation of the authors, even by proxy, at the awards evening, exempts the
organization from any commitment awards. In particular, it is necessary to have at least one
representative of winning work in order to receive the prize money. No reimbursement is expected, in
any capacity, for the participation of the authors and / or their representatives for participation in the
awards evenings, although they are permitted to board conventions and particularly advantageous
accommodation.
Art. 14) - A selection of the short participants will be projected during other initiatives promoted and
organized by Cinecircolo Maurizio Grande, used to spread, non-profit, film culture, both online and on
TV. The winning works will be published in full on the facebook page and on the "Cinecircolo
Maurizio Grande" web page.
Art. 15) - Entries will not be returned and will become part of the Festival archive.
Art. 16) - Participation in the Mediterranean Short Film Festival implies acceptance of all conditions
set forth in the articles of this regulation.
Art. 17) - According to the law 196/03, the data will be used only for the MEDITERRANEAN
FESTIVAL SHORT organization.

The author authorizes the Cinecircolo "Maurizio Grande", as the Mediterranean Short Film
Festival Competition organizer, use of the work submitted for the purpose of the event;
therefore authorizes public viewing, archiving, publication of the title and the short key data
on websites and paperless, all non-profit and in compliance with civil and criminal tax laws,
whose compliance is dependent from the author.
The works can be used to promote the non-profit Film culture, both online and on TV. The
winning works will be published in full on the fb page and on the website of "Cinecircolo
Maurizio Grande".
The author hereby agrees to assume any responsibility for the content of the work, lifting the Cinecircolo Maurizio
Grande from any liability.
