Le travail de Marjolijn de Wit témoigne encore d'un engagement substantiel
d’une société dans laquelle les problèmes formellement connus se
confrontent.
Le travail de De Wit n’a jamais été spécifiquement que sur cette quête du
contrôle de la nature par l’humanité. Dès ses débuts, la fascination de De
Wit a non seulement été pour l’intellectualisation d’une culture compulsive,
mais aussi pour l’esthétique. Au lieu d’une approche thématique, elle
travaille à présent la conceptualisation de cette idée grace à des expériences
de pensée telle que: À quoi ressemblerait un tel monde?
Marjolijn de Wit semble rechercher une interface entre culture et nature, un
intrigant No-man’s Land n'existant que par une redistribution urbaine faite
au hasard. Dans un même temps, elle se rapproche de l’histoire de l’art
abstrait, le tout témoignant d’un nouveau langage pictural. Toujours
engagé, le travail est plus subtil et complexe, par ailleurs, plus troublant
avec des représentations d’un monde entre ordre et chaos, des résidus
d’espaces entre table à dessin et croissance organique ; la propriété inculte
entre formative, capacité d’imagination et compulsion incontrôlable.
